September 30, 2000

I have taken a quiet weekend after a very stressful week to catch up on my web site. I have been blessed with a wonderful job that encourages continuing education. One of the classes I recently took was on Front Page 2000, which was just what I needed to get back to my pages.

Right now though it has been about 3 or so more weeks because I was having problems getting my site published and have just switched to a new web address. As the paperwork is done I hope to be published this week.

The IT manager at work quit a few weeks ago and things have been pretty stressful. They will not be replacing her and the 3 of us will be picking up the load, outsourcing what we are not able to do. Needless to say the learning curve has gotten very steep. I worked long and hard to learn all that I know and it has been very hard feeling like it just isn't enough, sigh. No matter how much I know or learn it isn't enough right now. I know I am putting a lot of that on myself but that is just the way I am. I am sure things will settle in soon enough.

I was just saying to my friend, Sue,  the other day, that I was really ready for something to go right! Has seemed that at every turn in my life there were issues or problems. Well, I have to smack myself when I feel like that, because I know my life works. Evidence of that is the grand prize I just won from the local radio station, KUPL! The BEST country station in Portland!

Nancy had called me at work a few weeks ago to let me know that KUPL had just called my license plate. That gave me 98 minutes to call in and choose one of the envelopes for a prize. At that point I won the beanie baby collectables, but it put me in the drawing for the Polaris Xpedition 425, quad. You know those 4 wheel ATV's

I was into work the other morning at 6:30 with a tech for an upgrade on one of the servers when my co workers phone rang. I answered and it was Nancy . She asked me if I was sitting down and I got upset and said just tell me what happened! Hehe, she told me that Jimmy had just called her from work and while he was throwing his mail with his head phones on he heard them pull my name as the grand prize winner. The called my house, and played the whole thing on the radio while Jimmy is having a coronary on the floor, yelling "That's my sister! I don't believe it!" He called Nancy so she could call me. I will be picking it up next weekend. The dealer says they sell for $4700, yet the radio was saying it was worth $8, 000. We will see, but I will be selling it and not looking to ride it.
